Srila Prabhupada

A. C. Bhaktivedanta Srila Prabhupada was a great saint and scholar that came to America in 1965 on the order of his dearmost spiritual master Srila Bhaktivedanta Saraswati. He wrote more than sixty volumes of authoritative translations, commentaries, and summary studies of the philosophical and religious classics of India. Highly respected by the academic community for the authoritativeness, depth, and clarity his books are used as standard textbooks in numerous college courses. Srila Prabhupad was very bold in his preaching the glories of the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna and he guided the Society as it grew into a worldwide confederation of more than one hundred asramas, schools, temples, institutes, and farm communities. By his great qualities, his purity, and humility he fulfilled the prediction that the holy names of Krishna would be sung in every town and village of the world.
